Ricky Gervais is a rare breed, he genuinely says what he wants, what he thinks, and does not care what people think of it. His main filter on what to say is 'Is It Funny', and it seems that's really set on whether he thinks it's funny, and not whether others will find it funny. He is his own audience, and it's beautiful to see, it creates this authentic and comedic commentary on what he see's and I think he is a national treasure for doing so. Not only has he created some iconic characters, and created some great stand ups, which shows a deep understanding for writing funny jokes, he is always funny when he appears anywhere.. The first thing that springs to mind when I think of this, is when he was on the One show, and he said Bob Geldof looked homeless, this was sooooo funny, and Ricky loved it.
Also his one liners on the Dutch Barn ad's are proper bangers, and the honesty of the damage that alcohol can cause whilst selling Vodka is super fresh... go and give them a watch. Anyway, Ricky is great, and i look forward to seeing him comment on anything and everything, and for this we will put him on the cover for The MEN SAID Show 5...

Ricky is a multi millionaire who isn't worried about being cancelled, he could retire today and live very comfortably for the rest of his life, I think his attitude and opinions would be very different if he was actually trying to maintain a career.
He's never sold out. I believe his commitment to free speech is one of the most important kinds, heartfelt and deeply thought out. All comics ought to recognize their livelihoods are on the line with advent of Woke suppression of free speech over feigned outrage. He's one of the few who stood up and he's now vindicated. May the God he doesn't believe in continue to bless him.
That One Show comment went something like "Yeah I've been lucky, I mean, I could have ended up living in a car, like Bob here!"
A comedic genius, fantastic live (and not greedy - £45 tickets earlier this year) + has written some brilliant stuff, if a little hit & miss.
There's not many people who can stand up in front of the Hollywood "Elite" and literally make them look like idiots. "Take your award say thanks and FUCK OFF". The man is certainly a rare breed. Has massive bollox and is also massively talented in many ways. And can box!!
Good on the cover, but not 'tits oot' if that's ok.. Genuinely funny man and mischievous. He says he doesn't care if he offends people, but I have a sneaky feeling that he sometimes goes out of his way to offend certain people. His BBC archive stuff probably now comes with trigger warnings if they haven't deleted the back catalogue. He's played diverse characters which are very convincing versions of real people we know. And a big sense of schoolboy humour thrown in for good measure
